Bette Spektorov was born in London in 1939. She studied art history at Oxford and The Courtauld Institute of Art and fine art at Hunter College, New York, where she was a student of Tony Smith and Robert Morris. She has participated in exhibitions at Camden Arts Centre, London; Christies, London; the National Galleries of Liverpool (John Moores Painting Prize competitor); the Usher Gallery, Lincoln and The Warehouse Gallery, London, as well as at Ben Uri. She has also contributed to publications including Studio International and has taught art at Hornsey College (Middlesex University). She lives and works in the Fens of South Lincolnshire.
